Membership

New members are always welcome at The Model Railroad Club, Inc. Experience is not necessary, only an active interest in the hobby of model railroading, a desire to learn and a willingness to actively support the organization and its mission.

It is strongly recommended that applicants attend operating sessions and/or participate in Saturday activities. This is to enable the applicant to become acquainted with the members and improve their chances of being approved for membership. It also provides the applicant an opportunity to determine the scale in which they are most interested. We have HO and N scale departments, and it is necessary to select one during the application process.

A membership application is available at the Club during our regular public hours. Application for membership must be made in person at the Club. Application for membership must be made in writing and must be delivered with the required application fee in person at the Club. If you take the form home with you, please return it in person, not by US Mail.

There are three categories of membership:

  • Senior: 18 & over
  • Junior: 15 – 17 years old
  • Family

Experience is not required, but a good attitude is. As with any worthwhile endeavor, you get out of your membership only what you put into it. If you share these values and have a passion for “The World’s Greatest Hobby,” then we may be the club for you.

Stop by the Club any Saturday afternoon and speak to a member of the Club’s Board for more information. We look forward to meeting you!
